ALL STUDENTS: Backlight Theatre Company is excited to invite all students to participate in the Ghostlight Project in the Studio Theater on Thursday, January 19th, at 5:15 p.m. Inspired by the tradition of leaving a “ghost light” on in a darkened theater, members of the theatre community – from Broadway to regional theatres to high schools and colleges – will make a pledge to stand for and protect the values of inclusion, participation, and compassion for everyone regardless of race, class, religion, country of origin, immigration status, ability, age, gender identity or sexual orientation. Please bring your own light (cell phones or flashlights work great!) and join us this Thursday at 5:15 p.m. in the Studio Theater. (Friechels 1/19)

JSA(Junior State Of America)
JSA: Come to JSA’s meeting after school in the IRC TODAY!! Want to find out what we will be debating? Read this blurb! A Universal Basic Income is defined as money paid by the government to each individual on a regular basis in lieu of other welfare programs. Proponents claim that having one will simplify the welfare state and be able to provide equal care for all individuals, especially since social security funds may run out soon. On the other hand, funding a UBI is a difficult endeavor. Do you believe that a Universal Basic Income is preferable to the modern welfare state? Come to today’s JSA meeting to express your opinion.
